NJ Breast Implant Replacement - Why Remove & Replace Breast Implants

POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 07, 2021 AT 9:02 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures. Breast augmentation uses breast implants to improve the shape, size, and symmetry of the breasts.

While breast implants are long-lasting, some patients may choose to undergo breast implant replacement. Breast implant replacement is performed to remove breast implants and exchange them for a new pair of breast implants.

When Should I Consider Breast Implant Replacement?

In the majority of cases, breast implant replacement is performed to correct minor cosmetic concerns a patient may have with their breast implants.

On the other hand, breast implant replacement is sometimes performed to treat a medical complication related to breast implants, such as capsular contracture or breast implant rupture.

While medical complications due to breast implants are possible, Dr. Asaadi has a 100% success rate of no capsular contracture or implant rupture throughout his career.

Exchange Silicone Breast Implants To Saline Breast Implants

At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we only offer saline breast implants. Saline implants provide more natural-looking results and have been proven to be a safer and more effective option. Many patients choose to remove their silicone breast implants and replace them with saline breast implants for the most natural-looking results possible.

Increase Breast Implant Size

Breast implant replacement can be performed if a patient desires larger breasts. During this procedure, the current breast implants are removed and replaced with larger breast implants to help patients achieve their treatment goals.

Decrease Breast Implant Size

In some cases, patients may decide they wish to have smaller breasts. Patients who have lost a signifigant amount of weight for example may feel that their current breast implants no longer complement their figure as well as they once have. To correct this, Dr. Asaadi can remove breast implants and replace them with smaller breast implants to better fit a patient’s figure.

Improve Results From A Previous Surgeon

Sometimes, patients are unsatisfied with their breast implant results from a previous plastic surgeon. Dr. Asaadi offers breast implant revision with breast implant replacement to correct any unnatural-looking results from a previous procedure.

Treat A Breast Implant Rupture

Breast implant replacement surgery is sometimes performed for medical concerns, such as treating a breast implant rupture. A breast implant may rupture or leak following a fall or accident. Damaged implants can be removed and replaced, or simply removed.

Correct Capsular Contracture

Capsular contracture is a medical condition where tissue around the breast implant tightens and becomes too firm. To treat capsular contracture, the breast implants must be removed completly or removed and replaced with new breast implants.

Breast Augmentation NJ – What To Consider Before Breast Implant Surgery

POSTED ON THURSDAY, MAY 21, 2020 AT 3:16 PM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

After pregnancy or weight fluctuations, many women may seek out breast augmentation surgery to improve their confidence, feel more youthful, or fit into clothing more comfortably. Breast augmentation surgery can improve the appearance of the breasts by enhancing their shape, size, and contours. Breast augmentation can also treat asymmetries in the breasts, creating a balanced, youthful look. Breast augmentation surgery is a highly individualized procedure however, and requires several considerations when searching for the right plastic surgeon.

Saline or Silicone Implants?

The two primary options for breast implants include silicone and saline implants. Silicone implants are filled with a silicone fluid which make any ruptures in the implant difficult to detect. Silicone implants require regular check-ups after breast augmentation surgery to ensure no ruptures or other issues occur during the life of the implant.

To prevent complications and to give the breasts a natural-looking shape and feel, Dr. Asaadi only uses saline implants in breast augmentation surgery. Saline implants are filled with a safe, sterile saltwater solution.

Prevent Capsular Contracture After Breast Augmentation

Dr. Asaadi utilizes the inframammary approach when placing breast implants. The saline implants are inserted through an incision placed discreetly under the natural crease of the breast, called the inframammary incision. In comparison to other incision methods, the inframammary approach reduces the risk of developing capsular contracture.

Submuscular Or Subglandular Breast Implant Placement?

Breast implant placement in breast augmentation surgery is also important to consider. Breast implants may be placed above or beneath the muscle. Dr. Asaadi uses the submuscular approach, where the implant is placed underneath the muscle. This placement produces more natural-looking results and also reduces the chance of interference during mammograms.

When performed by a plastic surgeon who understands your goals and individual anatomy, breast augmentation surgery can create long-term, natural-looking results.

Breast Implant Removal NJ – Removing Your Breast Implants

POSTED ON MONDAY, JULY 22, 2019 AT 5:41 PM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Although breast augmentation surgery leaves many patients enthusiastic about their new body, this initial enthusiasm may shift over time as patients’ perception of their body image changes. For those who have received breast augmentation surgery and are experiencing dissatisfaction, pain, or complications as a result of implants, Dr. Asaadi offers breast implant removal and replacement.

What is Breast Implant Removal Surgery?

Breast implants may be removed for various reasons. In certain cases, a silicone implant can break, causing silicone to leak. When scar tissue hardens and contracts around the implant, this is known as capsular contracture. Although a common complication of breast augmentation,

Dr. Asaadi believes capsular contracture can be avoided and is solely a symptom of poor surgical techniques. Having performed breast augmentations with a 100% success rate of no capsular contracture or implant leakage, Dr. Asaadi swears by the method of using saline implants and utilizing the inframammary incision to accomplish successful breast augmentation surgeries at his NJ practice.

Although a ruptured implant can be painful, it may also go unnoticed, in a phenomenon known as “silent ruptures”. To avoid “silent ruptures” and the development of capsular contracture, Dr. Asaadi only uses saline breast implants.

Saline-filled implants are made out of a sterile saltwater solution, in which a silicone shell is inserted into the breast and then filled to its desired volume with saline-fluid. Having the consistency of water, saline implants provide a more natural, safe, and symmetrical result. For this reason, some patients also opt to remove their silicone implants and replace their breast implants with saline implants.

Who Can Get Breast Implant Removal Surgery?

Breast implant removal surgery is commonly performed if the patient is no longer satisfied with their implants or wishes to exchange them. It is natural for tastes to change over time, and life events such as pregnancy can alter the appearance of the original implants. Although breast implants do not expire, patients often remove or exchange their implants every 10 to 20 years due to complications such as a ruptures or hardening of scars, transformations in their physical body leading to discomfort, or changes in personal preferences. Breast implant removal surgery is recommended if the patient is experiencing capsular contracture, pain caused by the implants, or if breast imaging has shown a leak in the implant.

What Will My Breasts Look Like After Breast Implant Removal Surgery?

Results from breast implant removal are highly individualized, dependent upon age, overall health, and implant size, but patients can expect natural-looking results. Patients with very large implants may require further surgery to address excess skin.

Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about breast implant removal surgery, as well as other breast enhancement procedures. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000, our New York office at 212.938.0158, or you may request an appointment online today!

Avoid Capsular Contracture Post Breast Augmentation

POSTED ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 02, 2018 AT 11:01 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Capsular contracture is often thought to be one of the most common complications of breast augmentation. Capsular contraction occurs when scar tissue forms around the implant; it is usually induced by a low-skilled plastic surgeon or from certain surgical techniques. While many plastic surgeons believe capsular contracture is a risk that comes with breast implants post procedure, Dr. Asaadi does not believe this is true and that capsular contracture is completely avoidable when breast augmentation is performed correctly.

Capsular contracture does not have to do with implants, but how breast augmentation is performed.  In fact, Dr. Asaadi has performed breast augmentations with a 100% success rate of no capsular contracture or implant leakage by using saline implants and the inframammary incision to accomplish successful breast augmentation surgeries at his NJ practice.

What Is Capsular Contracture?

Capsular contracture occurs when excessive scar tissue forms around the breast implant. This can cause the implant to harden and in some cases create a visual deformity as well as pain. This defect usually occurs during the healing process, or can occur at any time post procedure. Capsular contracture jeopardizes the aesthetic improvements of your breast enhancement, but it’s not typically a risk to your health.

What Are Saline Breast Implants?

Saline-filled implants are made out of a sterile saltwater solution, in which a silicone shell is inserted into the breast and then filled to its desired volume with saline-fluid. Saline has the consistency of water, which’ll provide natural-looking and satisfying results! Dr. Asaadi will only use saline breast implants during his breast augmentation procedures. Saline implants help reduce asymmetries, as well as enhance breast contour and shape.

Benefits Of The Inframammary Incision Approach

When a breast augmentation is performed through the areola, it increases the risk of capsular contracture. Dr. Asaadi only uses inframammary incision for breast augmentation surgery to reduce the risk of capsular contracture. The inframammary incision is discreetly placed beneath each breast for precision and it won’t present nerve damage in the nipples.

Dr. Asaadi’s patients do not experience capsular contracture, breast implant leakage, bleeding, or hematoma. In all of Dr. Asaadi’s breast augmentation procedures, he uses the most advanced surgical techniques that results in minimal pain, discomfort, and a shorter recovery time.

Body Contouring & Volumized Breasts With Liposuction & Natural Breast Augmentation!

POSTED ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2016 AT 10:17 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Liposuction and natural breast augmentation can be paired together to enhance your physique! This combination procedure enables patients to address multiple areas of concern in one surgery. Liposuction can shape the body while natural fat transfer can add youthful-looking volume to the breasts. Together, these techniques can achieve natural-looking results by taking your own fat from one area of the body and inserting it into the breasts to enhance contours.

Liposuction

Liposuction can remove pockets of excess body fat with precision. A small cannula is inserted underneath the skin to extract unwanted fat cells and improve contours. At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer the latest liposuction techniques, including tumescent liposuction, super wet lipo, and VASER® LipoSelection to achieve optimal results with less healing time than past liposuction methods. Patients can target a variety of areas, including the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. Once fat cells are extracted from the body, they are collected and preserved for the second part of your procedure.

Natural Breast Augmentation

During natural breast augmentation, the fat cells taken from your liposuction procedure are injected into your breasts to enhance volume and to ensure a symmetrical appearance. Because the natural fat transfer technique uses your own fat cells, this procedure can achieve extremely realistic results for patients.

Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about liposuction and natural breast augmentation, as well as any of our other body contouring or breast enhancement procedures.
