NJ Laser Skin Resurfacing: A Refreshed Look for the New Year

POSTED ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 04, 2023 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

With a new year comes new changes, and for many people their New Year’s resolutions involve goals to attain their desired appearance. So, why not face the new year with a refreshed and rejuvenated look? At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer numerous facial rejuvenation treatments that contribute to restoring youthful, glowing skin and can provide patients with more confidence as they enter the new year.

One way to bring back radiance to the skin is through laser skin resurfacing. This is a facial rejuvenation procedure and blemish treatment that reduces cosmetic irregularities such as damaged skin, acne, and signs of aging. As you begin to age, wrinkles, folds, age spots, and fine lines will start to appear. Repairing your skin and reducing the signs of aging is possible with laser skin resurfacing.

Laser skin resurfacing uses laser beam technology to precisely target problem areas. The laser is scientifically designed to repair damaged skin while preserving as much healthy skin and tissue as possible. During the procedure, protective eye goggles are worn to shield the eyes from the laser.

There are several different laser treatments available today that are chosen based on the individual needs and preferred outcome for each patient. Laser skin resurfacing may utilize ablative lasers, non-ablative lasers, fractional lasers, and the Fraxel CO2 Pixel Perfect™ laser, and Intense Pulsed Light Treatment. A combination of these laser types can be used to effectively treat skin concerns. Laser treatments can also be performed at various depths, which is dependent on the skin imperfections being repaired.

  • Ablative Lasers: Removes damaged tissue and skin layers that cause discoloration, blemishes, or irregularities and are often used in cases of skin-firming, wrinkle treatment, and scar reduction.
  • Non-Ablative Lasers: Breaks down cosmetic blemishes on the surface of the skin and is often used for treating fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Fractional Lasers: Reach the deepest layers of the skin to remove damaged cells and promote growth of healthy tissue and is used to treat deep folds, severe wrinkles, scarring, discoloration, and liver spots.
  • Fraxel CO2 Pixel Perfect™ Laser: Treats the deepest layers of skin without harming healthy cells, restarts your body’s natural collagen production, generating new, healthy skin cells. This laser results in a high success rate and quick recovery period.
  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatment: Improve the appearance of skin irregularities by enhancing tone and texture of skin, encourage collagen production, and is used to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, pigmentation issues, birthmarks, and more without extensive recovery time.

Laser skin resurfacing is performed for moderate-to-severe cosmetic blemishes and irregularities. Dr. Asaadi will help to achieve facial rejuvenation results by determining which laser would be best. The recovery from laser skin resurfacing is dependent on which laser was used and at what depth. Common side effects from this procedure include minor itching, irritation, and discomfort which fade in the days following the treatment. The skin may be red and sensitive for the first few weeks, and sun exposure should be avoided.

Microneedling & PRP New Jersey - Treat Wrinkles, Acne Scars, & More

POSTED ON MONDAY, MARCH 08, 2021 AT 8:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

As you age, your body begins to produce less elastin and collagen, which is what keeps your skin youthful and firm. With less elastin and collagen, wrinkles, fine lines, and creases may form and cause you to look older than you actually are. Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, combined with PRP can improve the texture and appearance of the skin for a radiant complexion.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that creates tiny holes within the skin to encourage the skin to heal. Your body responds to these tiny punctures by producing additional elastin and collagen fibers to promote healing. Over time, the elastin and collagen fibers can promote firmer, smoother-looking skin.

What Is PRP?

PRP, which is known as platelet rich plasma, is derived from the platelets naturally found in your blood. Platelets play an important role in your body’s response to healing injuries and can speed up your body’s tissue repair process. During a PRP treatment, blood is drawn as if you were undergoing a routine blood test. This sample is then placed in a centrifuge and separated into several components. PRP is then collected from this sample and used to assist your body’s natural healing mechanisms.

What Are The Benefits Of Microneedling With PRP?

Combining PRP with microneedling can further improve skin rejuvenation results following collagen induction therapy. Microneedling with PRP therapy allows for the platelet rich plasma to be better absorbed by your skin, encouraging your natural healing cycle.

Benefits Of Microneedling With PRP:

  • Restores skin elasticity
  • Increases collagen production
  • Reduces fine lines
  • Decreases blemishes, acne scars, & pore size
  • Reduces the appearance of stretch marks

Microneedling with PRP injections treats various signs of aging, including wrinkles, acne scars, pore size, and more.

Dr. Asaadi and our staff welcome any questions you may have about microneedling & PRP, as well as our other non-invasive treatments. Contact our New Jersey office at 913.731.7000, our New York office at 212.938.0158, or you may request an appointment online today!

5 Reasons To Consider Microneedling With PRP!

POSTED ON TUESDAY, JUNE 05, 2018 AT 10:11 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

with PRP (platelet rich plasma therapy) can improve skin tone and restore a radiant complexion without the need for surgery or extensive healing time. These two treatments work together to enhance skin texture and reduce the prominence of wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and more. During microneedling, tiny holes are made in the skin to encourage your body’s natural healing mechanisms. Your platelet rich plasma is extracted from a blood sample and injected into the target area to further stimulate your skin’s ability to heal itself. By combining microneedling with platelet rich plasma therapy, patients can achieve smoother, glowing skin texture. Here’s 5 reasons to consider microneedling and PRP.

1.) Microneedling & PRP Can Treat Multiple Skin Irregularities

Microneedling and platelet rich plasma treatment can improve the appearance of many cosmetic concerns. Patients can target wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, blemishes, and sun damage. Common treatment areas include the face, neck, and arms.

2.) Microneedling & PRP Work Together

Microneedling and PRP work synergistically to achieve optimal results. The tiny holes made from microneedling treatment help your body better absorb PRP injections, while PRP injections enhance your skin’s ability to heal and stimulate collagen following microneedling.

3.) Microneedling & PRP Are Non-Surgical & Can Be Completed Quickly

There is no invasive surgery when undergoing microneedling or PRP. General anesthesia is not necessary and treatments can be completed rather quickly.

4.) Microneedling & PRP Require Minimal Downtime

Microneedling and PRP do not require extensive recovery time following treatment. You may experience some swelling, bruising, peeling, or redness for a couple of days. Patients can typically resume their daily activities within a few days of undergoing treatment.

5.) Microneedling & PRP Can Achieve Long-Lasting Results

Microneedling and PRP are designed to achieve natural-looking, long-lasting enhancements to skin texture and complexion. You can expect to see results in the weeks following your microneedling and platelet rich plasma treatment.

Microneedling & PRP To Restore A Glowing Complexion!

POSTED ON MONDAY, AUGUST 14, 2017 AT 2:00 PM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Are you looking to improve your complexion and skin texture? Over time, a variety of factors may affect your skin tone, including sun damage, blemishes, acne scarring, wrinkles, and fine lines. Recent skin care advancements have led to an effective anti-aging solution – microneedling and PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment. When used together, micro needling and platelet rich plasma therapy can improve skin texture and elasticity for youthful-looking results.

Microneedling Overview

Microneedling, also referred to as collagen induction therapy, creates microscopic holes in the skin using a COSMOPen tool. These tiny punctures stimulate a natural healing response from your body, resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin fibers to reinforce skin structure. Micro needling can be performed on the face, neck, and arms, as well as other areas of your body.

PRP Treatment Overview

PRP treatment, also known as platelet rich plasma therapy, uses the platelet rich plasma found in your blood to aid healing. During your PRP procedure, a blood sample is taken and your platelet rich plasma is isolated and spun in a centrifuge. Your PRP is then injected into the treatment area to aid your body’s natural healing mechanisms.

How Do Micro Needling And PRP Work Together?

Micro needling and PRP can work together to improve skin tone and texture while stimulating the body’s natural healing processes. Microneedling can help the skin absorb platelet rich plasma injections, while PRP therapy can further accentuate your skin’s healing response following micro needling.

What Type Of Results Can I Expect?

Combining micro needling treatment with platelet rich plasma therapy can achieve natural-looking enhancements to your complexion. Microneedling and PRP can treat a variety of different conditions, including sun damaged-skin, wrinkles, acne scars, and blemishes. Microneedling results are usually seen after 1 treatment, but 3-6 sessions are typically recommended for ideal improvements to skin texture.
