POSTED ON TUESDAY, APRIL 02, 2024 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

New season, new skin! Refresh your skin this spring and start the season off with your best face forward. Dr. Asaadi and his team can perform non-invasive treatments and utilize cosmetic fillers to help you achieve a rejuvenated and revitalized glow without undergoing any invasive surgeries or procedures.

Cosmetic Fillers

Cosmetic fillers can provide patients with a younger-looking appearance by combatting wrinkles, fine lines, and creases, adding volume to the facial profile. Cosmetic fillers are injected beneath the skin to add volume to areas of the face that may have become sunken or hollowed with age. Certain fillers are utilized to reshape the lips or cheeks, for a fuller, more plump appearance.

Learn more about our cosmetic fillers below!

· Juvéderm®: a dermal filler that can provide natural-looking, fuller facial features to reduce the appearance of aging. Juvéderm® can treat wrinkles, facial folds, fine lines, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, furrowed brows, thinning lips, hollowed cheeks, and crow’s feet.

· Belotero®: a non-invasive wrinkle treatment that can provide more natural, subtle results. Belotero® can help restore a younger-looking appearance by softening and lightening folds, facial lines, and creases, while volumizing hollowed under eyes.

· Voluma®: a cosmetic injectable that lifts and shapes the cheeks. Voluma® is injected into the deepest layers of the skin and muscle to combat a loss of volume due to aging, and contour hollowed cheeks. Voluma® is a long-lasting solution for enhancing your facial profile.

· Volbella®: a soft, gel consistency cosmetic injectable designed to add volume to the lips and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Volbella® can redefine and reshape the lips for a more youthful look. Volbella® can treat fine lines, wrinkles, and folds created from the repeated movements from smiling, frowning, or laughing over time.

Non-Invasive Treatments

Non-invasive treatments are non-surgical procedures that are designed to rejuvenate and refresh your appearance without undergoing lengthy surgeries. These treatment options are smaller procedures that can provide natural-looking results and achieve an enhanced overall appearance without extensive downtime.

· Microneedling with PRP: a skin care treatment that can stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin to improve skin tone and maintain a healthy, glowing complexion. Microneedling with PRP (platelet rich plasma) mainly targets the face, neck, and arms and can provide long-lasting, regenerative results.

· Hydrafacial®: a non-invasive dermabrasion skin resurfacing method that can improve fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, enlarged pores, lack of elasticity, and more. Hydrafacial® is a combination of cleansing, extracting, and hydrating to soothe, moisturize, and rejuvenate the skin for a radiant, glowing complexion.

· Skin Care Facials and Peels: at Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer a variety of skin care facials and masks that can achieve each patient’s desired goals. Some of our masks and peels include: the Bespoke facial, Casmara Facial Masks, Skinceuticals® MicroPeel, Skinceuticals®

SKINVIVE™ by Juvéderm is a cosmetic injectable that can provide patients with an alternative to traditional fillers, while still achieving a rejuvenated and more radiant appearance. SKINVIVE™ helps to reduce the appearance of dry, dull skin, and combat the signs of facial aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture, enlarged pores, and more.

The SKINVIVE™ injectable is comprised of hyaluronic acid microdroplets, which is a substance that is found naturally in the body. The hyaluronic acid microdroplets work to provide moisture to the skin and provide patients with a glowing complexion. SKINVIVE™ is FDA approved and works to improve the appearance of the cheeks and restore overall skin health to achieve a more youthful complexion.

Who Can Benefit from SKINVIVE™?

Patients who suffer from common skin imperfections such as acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, dull and dry skin, flaking skin, and more can all benefit from SKINVIVE™. The SKINVIVE™ treatment is safe to use on all skin types and skin tones.

How does SKINVIVE™ work?

SKINVIVE™ is injected just below the surface of the skin, targeting specific areas of facial tissue. SKINVIVE™ is a minimally-invasive procedure due to the treatment being administered below, but very close to the skin’s surface. This technique allows for SKINVIVE™ to target larger treatment areas. Following the injection, water can easily flow between the skin cells, encouraging increased hydration and smoothing effects. During your SKINVIVE™ treatment, patients can expect little-to-no pain as numbing with a topical anesthetic is administered prior to your SKINVIVE™ injection. Following your SKINVIVE™ injection, redness, bruising, and swelling may occur around the injection site.

Botox® Myths Debunked - NJ Plastic Surgeon

POSTED ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 01, 2023 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Botox Myths DebunkedBotox is a wrinkle treatment used to help reduce the signs of aging. With age, collagen production in your body decreases, leading to a loss of elasticity. Loss of collagen and elasticity are the reasons for fine lines and wrinkles and causes the skin to sag and become less firm. Repeated facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, and squinting and environmental factors such as excess sun exposure can all lead to facial wrinkles as well.

There are large amounts of information being spread and discussed regarding Botox ever since it saw a rise in popularity in the late 1990s. As it became popular, and still is today, so has the idea that there are many negative side effects, issues, and overall misconceptions about the treatment. Myths spread about Botox treatment can be misleading and misrepresent the various benefits that Botox injections offer.

At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we have debunked some of the most common myths circulating about Botox. This alllows our patients to feel reassured that they are making the right decisions based on facts, not fiction.

#1 Botox is toxic

  • Botox has been FDA approved since 2002 and has been approved for a variety of different medical and cosmetic reasons over the span of 20 years. It has an established safety history and is extremely regulated and controlled. This myth stems from the knowledge that Botox is derived from botulinum toxin, which is extracted from the bacteria that causes botulism. Botox is not the same as botulism, and you cannot contract the illness from the use of Botox.

#2 Botox will give me a “frozen” or expressionless look

  • The “frozen” expression that is often described is typically due to an overdosage when being injected. When done properly, Botox only affects the muscles at the location of injection, and it is not capable of spreading to other parts of the body. It is important to only have Botox administered by someone qualified, and experienced to get the desired effect, with natural-looking results and display a full range of normal facial expressions and emotions.

#3 Botox injections are painful

  • Most patients describe a very mild pain, similar to a slight pinch, when getting their Botox treatment. The needles used for the procedure are very fine, and topical anesthetic creams specifically designed for Botox can be applied.

#4 Wrinkles will worsen if you stop getting Botox

  • The wrinkles targeted during the Botox procedure will not worsen if a patient does not continue to get treatment. Botox does not have permanent effects, and results typically only lasts between 6 months to a year. So, over time as facial expressions, emotions, and use of facial muscles continue, the wrinkles will slowly begin to appear again to their initial state, but not worsen.

#5 Botox is addictive

  • There are no addictive properties found in Botox. This myth largely stems from the fact that once patients complete a treatment, they are happy with their results and since it is not a permanent fix, they choose to continue to get Botox injections to maintain their appearance.

#6 Botox results are immediate

  • This procedure does not provide immediate results. Gradually and subtly the results will start to show within the first 3 to 5 days. Then, the final results will appear between 7 to 10 days following the procedure.
