How Does Botox® Work?
Botox® is specially designed to reduce nerve impulses and relax muscles. Made from the botulinum toxin protein, Botox® can be injected around the mouth, eyes, and forehead to improve the appearance of wrinkles, frown lines, and crow’s feet for a smoother, more rested appearance.
How Do Hyaluronic Acid Fillers Work?
Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid—a natural substance found in your body. These fillers, including Juvederm®, Perlane®, Belotero®, Volbella®, and Voluma®, can accomplish numerous procedure goals. Cosmetic fillers can replenish natural-looking facial volume, correct hollowing, fill-in superficial fines lines, and reduce deeper wrinkles. The choice of filler(s) depends on your procedure goals. Voluma® can enhance cheek definition, Volbella® can volumize the lips, Belotero® can target marionette lines around the mouth, and Juvederm® can reduce eye wrinkles.

Cosmetic injectables can treat the upper, mid, and lower face. Popular treatment areas include the brows, forehead, cheeks, lips, smile lines, chin, and jawline.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
Cosmetic injections can be completed in minutes and require no downtime or recovery. Patients can resume their daily activities upon finishing treatment.
What Kind Of Results Can Cosmetic Injections Achieve?

Rejuvenate your appearance with the latest cosmetic fillers! Volbella®, Voluma®, and Belotero® can each reduce the signs of aging in different ways. Voluma® can treat hollowing of the mid-face, while Belotero® and Volbella® can address smile lines, as well as wrinkles around the eyes. These treatments can be completed in-office and require no recovery time. Learn more about these cosmetic fillers below.
Volbella®
Volbella® is a specially designed dermal filler that can add volume to the lips and improve smile lines. Made from hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring substance found in your body), Volbella® can be safely injected into the lips to add volume and achieve a more plump appearance. Additionally, your plastic surgeon can inject Volbella® into wrinkles around the mouth, including smile lines, to add natural-looking fullness to the mid-face.
Voluma®
Voluma® is a hyaluronic acid filler that can add definition to the cheeks. Voluma® has a firmer consistency than other cosmetic fillers and can be injected deeper into the skin to provide longer-lasting volume. Voluma® can be inserted into the cheeks to reduce hollowness and lift flat cheeks.
Belotero®
Belotero® is a lighter cosmetic filler made from hyaluronic acid that can improve fine lines and marionette lines around the eyes and mouth. Belotero® is softer than most dermal fillers, making it an ideal option to smooth superficial facial lines found around the mouth, lips, and eyes. Belotero® can be injected close to the surface of the skin to add natural-looking volume.
Which Cosmetic Filler Is Right For Me?
Your plastic surgeon can discuss which dermal filler will best fit your procedure goals during your consultation. Choosing a skilled, experienced plastic surgeon is important when considering cosmetic fillers in order to achieve ideal results. Each patient’s facial structure is unique and an advanced understanding of the facial anatomy is required to administer dermal fillers.
Volbella®, Voluma®, and Belotero® can each achieve natural-looking results that may last years. Follow-up treatments are required to maintain your youthful-looking results.

For patients who have undergone a facial rejuvenation procedure in the past, it is important to maintain results in order to sustain a youthful-looking appearance. Regular touch-ups with cosmetic fillers can guard against fine lines, hollowing, or wrinkles caused by aging and sun exposure. These non-surgical injectables temporarily restore volume to different areas of the face, enhancing the results of a previous facial rejuvenation treatment for years to come, including a facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, brow lift, rhinoplasty, or facial implants.
How Do Cosmetic Fillers Work?
Cosmetic fillers are made from a naturally-occurring substance known as hyaluronic acid. These injectables are carefully injected into facial areas that have lost volume or definition to add fullness. Cosmetic fillers can smooth fine lines, improve the appearance of hollows, and reduce facial folds that form naturally over time. In addition to hyaluronic acid-based fillers, Botox® can be utilized to improve facial wrinkling; this substance is made from botulinum toxin and stops nerve impulses by relaxing facial muscles.
What Types Of Cosmetic Fillers Are Available?
There are a variety of cosmetic injectables available to treat specific facial conditions. Juvederm®, Restylane®, Voluma®, and Belotero® are all hyaluronic acid fillers that can achieve youthful-looking results. Botox® is another option to maintain natural-looking volume.
What Areas Can Cosmetic Fillers Treat?
Cosmetic fillers can treat the upper, mid, and lower facial regions. Fine lines and facial furrows around the brows and eyelids can be corrected, as can hollowing around the mid-face. Injectables can also reduce smile lines and wrinkles above the lips. Patients suffering from a loss of jawline definition can undergo treatment with dermal fillers to enhance contours, as well.
What Is Treatment Like?
Cosmetic injectables are a completely non-invasive treatment option, meaning there is no surgery involved. Fillers are carefully injected into the treatment area(s) in less than a half hour. There is no downtime associated and patients can resume daily activities upon completing their procedure.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
After undergoing your cosmetic filler treatment, you can expect to see results in the following days. Results usually last 6 months to a year. Follow-up treatments are recommended to maintain your youthful-looking results.

Under-eye bags often present aesthetic concerns for patients, as they can result in a tired or older-looking appearance. Two specific conditions—malar mounds and festoons—both present themselves as severe under-eye bags that can affect confidence in one’s look. At first glance, it is extremely difficult to tell the cause of these troublesome conditions.
As a result, Dr. Asaadi has pioneered the “Botox® Test” to discern the true cause of malar bags and festoons. Botox® is a cosmetic injectable that temporarily relaxes muscles and prevents nerve impulses. This simple test is used in order to correctly diagnose your under-eye bags so that a proper treatment plan can be formulated. See how it works below!
Undergoing The Botox® Test
In order to find the root cause of your malar mounds, Dr. Asaadi will carefully inject a small amount of Botox® into the orbicularis oculi, also known as the muscle around your eye. One possible cause is the presence of excess fat around the eye and upper cheek, which is causing your puffy appearance. Another possible reason for the occurrence of malar bags is muscle laxity around the eye that leads to sagging skin around the area.
If your Botox® injection causes your malar mounds to temporarily get worse, then this is a sign that your under-eye bags are caused by muscle laxity. However, if there is no change in the appearance of your festoons after your Botox® Test, then this shows that your condition is caused by excess fat around the eye.
Upon finding the reason for your under-eye bags, Dr. Asaadi can then formulate a proper treatment plan to improve the appearance of these issues. The Botox® Test is an important tool in the correction of malar mounds and festoons. Here at Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we aim to provide solutions to these issues that yield natural-looking results, as well as inspire confidence.

Patients looking to improve their appearance non-surgically in time for the holidays can choose from a variety of procedures to achieve natural-looking results. Cosmetic treatments, such as laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels, can remove damaged skin cells to improve your complexion, while cosmetic fillers can smooth facial wrinkles and folds. Additionally, patients can opt for Ultherapy® to tighten facial tissues and provide a lifting effect for the skin.
Laser Skin Resurfacing For a Glowing Complexion!
Laser skin resurfacing can be used to treat a variety of facial conditions. Laser energy can target fine lines around the eyes or mouth, while encouraging collagen production to promote skin tightening. Laser skin resurfacing can also correct uneven pigmentation and scarring from acne to improve skin tone and smooth your complexion. Laser skin resurfacing treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and requires minimal downtime.
Revitalize Your Skin With A Chemical Peel!
Chemical peels target the outer layers of your skin that are affected by blemishes, redness, uneven pigmentation, and acne scars. A chemical peel uses a specialized solution to remove the damaged layers of skin, allowing for new skin cells to grow. These new layers of skin contribute to a smooth, even complexion. Patients can choose from numerous types of peels, depending on the characteristics of their skin, as well as their individual goals.
Fillers And BOTOX® To Smooth Fine Lines And Folds!
Various types of cosmetic fillers can be utilized to achieve facial fullness and smooth wrinkles or lines. Juvederm® can fill folds around the eyelids and plump up the lips, while Belotero® targets fine lines around the mouth for a youthful smile. In addition, Voluma® can add volume to the cheeks and midface. While these cosmetic fillers utilize hyaluronic acid to fill facial lines, BOTOX® takes a different approach. During BOTOX® treatment, the solution relaxes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.
Lift Your Skin With Ultherapy®
Ultherapy® uses ultrasound energy to produce a firming effect for facial tissues by delivering heat to the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen growth. This increase in collagen production results in gradual skin tightening for a lifting effect. Patients can undergo Ultherapy® to achieve younger-looking skin.
