The SKINVIVE™ injectable is comprised of hyaluronic acid microdroplets, which is a substance that is found naturally in the body. SKINVIVE™ is FDA approved and works to improve the appearance of the cheeks and restore overall skin health to achieve a more youthful complexion.

How does SKINVIVE™ work?

SKINVIVE™ is injected just below the surface of the skin, targeting specific areas of facial tissue. SKINVIVE™ is a minimally-invasive procedure due to the treatment being administered below, but very close to the skin’s surface. This technique allows for SKINVIVE™ to target larger treatment areas. Following the injection, water can easily flow between the skin cells, encouraging increased hydration and smoothing effects. During your SKINVIVE™ treatment, patients can expect little-to-no pain as numbing with a topical anesthetic is administered prior to your SKINVIVE™ injection. Following your SKINVIVE™ injection, redness, bruising, and swelling may occur around the injection site.

NJ Laser Skin Resurfacing: A Refreshed Look for the New Year

POSTED ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 04, 2023 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

With a new year comes new changes, and for many people their New Year’s resolutions involve goals to attain their desired appearance. So, why not face the new year with a refreshed and rejuvenated look? At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer numerous facial rejuvenation treatments that contribute to restoring youthful, glowing skin and can provide patients with more confidence as they enter the new year.

One way to bring back radiance to the skin is through laser skin resurfacing. This is a facial rejuvenation procedure and blemish treatment that reduces cosmetic irregularities such as damaged skin, acne, and signs of aging. As you begin to age, wrinkles, folds, age spots, and fine lines will start to appear. Repairing your skin and reducing the signs of aging is possible with laser skin resurfacing.

Laser skin resurfacing uses laser beam technology to precisely target problem areas. The laser is scientifically designed to repair damaged skin while preserving as much healthy skin and tissue as possible. During the procedure, protective eye goggles are worn to shield the eyes from the laser.

There are several different laser treatments available today that are chosen based on the individual needs and preferred outcome for each patient. Laser skin resurfacing may utilize ablative lasers, non-ablative lasers, fractional lasers, and the Fraxel CO2 Pixel Perfect™ laser, and Intense Pulsed Light Treatment. A combination of these laser types can be used to effectively treat skin concerns. Laser treatments can also be performed at various depths, which is dependent on the skin imperfections being repaired.

  • Ablative Lasers: Removes damaged tissue and skin layers that cause discoloration, blemishes, or irregularities and are often used in cases of skin-firming, wrinkle treatment, and scar reduction.
  • Non-Ablative Lasers: Breaks down cosmetic blemishes on the surface of the skin and is often used for treating fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Fractional Lasers: Reach the deepest layers of the skin to remove damaged cells and promote growth of healthy tissue and is used to treat deep folds, severe wrinkles, scarring, discoloration, and liver spots.
  • Fraxel CO2 Pixel Perfect™ Laser: Treats the deepest layers of skin without harming healthy cells, restarts your body’s natural collagen production, generating new, healthy skin cells. This laser results in a high success rate and quick recovery period.
  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatment: Improve the appearance of skin irregularities by enhancing tone and texture of skin, encourage collagen production, and is used to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, pigmentation issues, birthmarks, and more without extensive recovery time.

Laser skin resurfacing is performed for moderate-to-severe cosmetic blemishes and irregularities. Dr. Asaadi will help to achieve facial rejuvenation results by determining which laser would be best. The recovery from laser skin resurfacing is dependent on which laser was used and at what depth. Common side effects from this procedure include minor itching, irritation, and discomfort which fade in the days following the treatment. The skin may be red and sensitive for the first few weeks, and sun exposure should be avoided.

Dr. Asaadi and his staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding laser skin resurfacing for the new year. Contact our New Jersey office at 913.731.7000, our New York office at 212.938.0158, or you may request an appointment online today!

New Jersey Skin Care Treatments - End of Summer Skin Care

POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 02, 2023 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

As the end of the summer approaches, it is important to take proper care of your skin following months of direct sun exposure. Common skin conditions that can result from being out in the sun are sun damage, wrinkles, age spots, loss of elasticity, red spots, hyperpigmentation, dry scalp and more.

At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer the latest skin care treatments, facials, masks and peels to acheive a glowing complexion. We offer a variety of skin care treatments that target these problems to renew and refresh your skin following the warm summer months!

Along with our treatments, it is important to remember to always apply SPF when outdoors, relaxing by the pool or laying out at the beach to protect your skin from being damaged by the sun.

Reducing Sun Damage

Sun damage is caused by UV rays breaking down healthy skin cells. As a result, this ages the skin and encourages the development of sunspots, wrinkles, rough skin, and more.

Skin care treatment options available to help combat sun damage include:

  • PerfectDerma Peel – softens sun spots and brightens the complexion
  • RevePeel Fresh – achieves a clearer complexion and diminishes sun damage with transformative results after just one treatment
  • RevePeel – clears up skin imperfections such as sun damage for healthy, glowing skin

Get Started with Hyperpigmentation Treatment

Hyperpigmentation is a skin condition caused by an increase in melanin due to sun exposure. Melanin is a natural pigment found in your body that is responsible for producing your skin pigmentation or skin tone. When this exposure is increased from being in the sun, it can result in darker patches of skin to appear. Hyperpigmentation treatments include:

  • Skinceuticals® MicroPeel – improves hydration, reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and evens skin pigmentation
  • Skinceuticals® Pigment Balancing Peel – chemical peel targeting hyperpigmentation to dramatically improve an uneven appearance
  • Skinceuticals® Vitalize Peel – improves pigmentation abnormalities and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • RevePeel – clears skin imperfections such as hyperpigmentation for healthy, glowing skin

Keravive® for a Healthy Scalp

Keravive® is a minimally-invasive, 3-step solution that treats a wide variety of scalp problems. Dry scalp occurs when your scalp loses too much moisture, and it can be caused by many different factors such as air quality, over washing, weather, age, and more. Keravive® hydrates the scalp and restores scalp health. It is designed similar to a unique spa-like treatment and is meant to cleanse, exfoliate, nourish, and hydrate the scalp.

Dr. Asaadi and our team are always available to discuss any questions or concerns regarding skin care treatments, and other non-invasive treatments. Contact our New Jersey office at 913.731.7000, our New York office at 212.938.0158, or you may request an appointment online!

Facelift Without Downtime - NJ Non Invasive Facelift Options

POSTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 01, 2022 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

The signs of facial aging are often the most noticeable, causing many patients to seek facial rejuvenation procedures in NJ. While many patients are great candidates for facelift surgery, non-invasive procedures can offer solutions to facial aging without having to go under the scalpel or take extended downtime.

These procedures provide long-lasting, natural-looking results and are ideal for patients looking to combat the signs of facial aging.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is effective in treating blemishes, damaged skin, and other signs of aging. Using precise laser technology, laser skin resurfacing can be tailored to fit the individual goals of each patient.

There are various laser options available to treat different facial concerns. Dr. Asaadi is able to help patients decide which option is best for achieving their desired results. Laser skin resurfacing can be combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are used to treat imperfections of the skin, often caused by aging, genetics, or excessive sun exposure. Through different levels of exfoliation, chemical peels can correct a wide variety of skin irregularities on the face.

There are three levels of chemical peels; light chemical peels, medium chemical peels, and deep chemical peels. Each peel targets a different layer of the skin and provides different results. Dr. Asaadi will help you decide which level of chemical peel is necessary to achieve your desired rejuvenation results.

Botox®

Botox® is a cosmetic injectable that reduces the signs of facial aging. Botox® is effective in treating wrinkles that form around the mouth, eyes, and forehead due to repeated facial muscle contractions.

Botox® works by temporarily limiting the facial expressions that lead to fine lines and wrinkles. This procedure takes approximately 10-20 minutes to perform and can easily be tailored to fit the desired results of each patient.

Ultherapy®

Ultherapy® is a non-invasive skin-tightening treatment that is used to lift and tone facial tissue that has lost elasticity or begun to sag. Using ultrasound technology, Ultherapy® uses direct sound waves to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen.

Because of its minimally-invasive nature, Ultherapy® patients can return to their regular activities almost immediately after undergoing the procedure. Visible improvements can be noticed following your first treatment, but the results will continue to develop in the months to follow.

Dr. Asaadi and his staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have concerning non-surgical treatments. Contact our New Jersey office at 913.731.7000, our New York office at 212.938.0158, or you may request an appointment online today!

Prepare Your Skin For Summer - NJ Skin Care Treatments

POSTED ON MONDAY, MAY 09, 2022 AT 3:12 PM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Just as changing seasons means a shift in our wardrobe, it also creates new challenges for our skin.

As the hot and humid summer season creeps up, our skin’s balance can be disrupted, resulting in inflammation and irritation. Our face is especially susceptible to these changes, as it is always receiving direct exposure to the elements.

Sun damage from UV rays ages the skin and encourages the development of sun spots and discoloration, so after a summer of beach trips and tanning, our skin could certainly use a pick me up.

At Asaadi Plastic Surgery we offer a number of treatments which can help lift away dead skin cells, remove blemishes and imperfections, and restore moisture in preparation for the upcoming season.

Following skin care treatments, patients should be conscious of their time in the sun until fully healed. The skin will be extremely sensitive, so it’s important to load up on SPF and other forms of sun protection such as hats, umbrellas, or seeking shade in order to receive optimal results.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peels can exfoliate the skin, promote skin cell regeneration, treat fine lines, wrinkles, and scars, and even the skin tone. At Asaadi Plastic Surgery we offer 3 varieties of chemical peels which differ in strength of treatment and chemical composition.

The light chemical peel gently removes dead and damaged skin to treat fine lines, acne, and discoloration, as well as promote the production of collagen and elastin. The medium chemical peel improves discoloration and facial lines with a deeper rejuvenating effect than the light chemical peel. The deep chemical peel delivers the most prominent results in the treatment of wrinkles, facial lines, acne scars, and uneven pigmentation by revitalizing the deepest layers of the skin that cause blemishes and cosmetic irregularities. Patients can expect noticeably smoother and brighter skin with a full-face chemical peel treatment.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing uses lasers to treat skin imperfections such as wrinkles, acne, age spots, and other cosmetic irregularities that occur with aging. A full-face treatment may be performed, or trouble areas of the skin can be targeted at various depths using an assortment of lasers. Each laser is designed to achieve a unique goal, such as skin tightening, the reduction of sun spots or blemishes, the production of new collagen, and more.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin to enhance skin firmness and structure, while reducing the appearance of wrinkles, acne scarring, and other cosmetic irregularities. Microneedling is performed using the COSMOPen tool which places tiny punctures in the skin, while platelet rich plasma isolated from your own blood sample is injected into treated areas to enhance healing and achieve natural, longer-lasting results.

HydraFacial MD®

HydraFacial MD® is a noninvasive hydradermabrasion skin treatment which combines cleansing, extraction, and hydration to rejuvenate and soothe skin. HydraFacial MD® uses cleansing serums, facial peels, hydrating, and healing extracts in a four-stage process to resurface the skin and brighten the complexion. Patients can expect an improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, uneven skin tone, lost elasticity, skin congestion, blemishes, age spots, and overall skin texture with the HydraFacial MD® treatment.

Casmara Facial Masks

Casmara facial masks use mineral substances, healing extracts, and natural ingredients to firm and moisturize the skin while also protecting it from free radicals and other environmental aggressors such as smoke, UV rays, pollution, and stress. Casmara face masks are suitable for a variety of skin types, and can reduce inflammation and the prominence of facial aging.
