NJ CORE Abdominoplasty Vs. Traditional Tummy Tuck

POSTED ON MONDAY, JUNE 02, 2025 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Body contouring procedures can help achieve a sculpted figure and repair damaged abdominal muscles. Patients who experience excess skin and fat of the abdomen following weight loss or pregnancy may benefit from tummy tuck surgery.

Abdominoplasty is meant to create a toned, firm midsection by repairing weakened muscles while addressing excess skin and fat. Abdominoplasty is ideal for individuals who have undergone a considerable amount of weight loss or women who have weakened stomach muscles due to pregnancy. Traditional tummy tuck surgery removes excess skin and fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. While traditional tummy tuck surgery is an effective body contouring solution, it can sometimes miss abdominal bulges. CORE Abdominoplasty℠ is a revolutionary method of abdominoplasty pioneered by Dr. Asaadi that targets fat traditional techniques may miss.

Traditional Tummy Tuck

Traditional tummy tuck surgery is one of the most common body sculpting procedures performed. Tummy tuck utilizes an incision made in the lower abdomen to remove excess fat and skin, followed by tightening of the muscles before closing the incision. During surgery, the patient is lying completely flat. A traditional tummy tuck can achieve a slimmer waistline by repositioning stomach muscles closer together and simultaneously correct the belly button.

CORE Abdominoplasty℠

CORE Abdominoplasty℠ was developed by Dr. Asaadi to remove excess fat and skin with more precision. The difference between this procedure is that the patients undergo a “Table Tilt Test”, which repositions the patient into a semi-sitting position at a 45° angle during surgery. Because the patient is still under general anesthesia, the body can fully rest and further bulges can be detected. Dr. Asaadi then proceeds to tighten additional muscles as needed to achieve the flattest midsection possible. CORE Abdominoplasty℠ is more ideal for patients with moderate weight loss as significant amounts of fat being adjusted can lead to health complications following the procedure.

A traditional tummy tuck surgery and CORE Abdominoplasty℠ can help patients remove excess fat and skin of the lower abdomen. While both methods of abdominoplasty can achieve a natural-looking, firm figure for patients, CORE Abdominoplasty℠ is a more comprehensive procedure.

During a consultation at Asaadi Plastic Surgery, Dr. Asaadi will take into consideration your anatomy, health, and cosmetic goals to determine if you are a candidate for abdominoplasty and help determine which method is right for you.

NJ Male Weight Loss - Body Contouring For Men

POSTED ON TUESDAY, MAY 06, 2025 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

Weight loss can drastically improve an individual’s physical and mental well-being. However, when excess fat or skin is left after weight loss, patients can experience discomfort that interferes with their desired outcome.

Body contouring for men following weight loss offers cosmetic procedures to remove fat deposits and excess skin for a more toned and sculpted appearance. Body contouring for men has become increasingly popular. Learn more about male plastic surgery to enhance weight loss results below!

Liposuction For Men

Liposuction is among one of the most common body contouring procedures performed. While weight loss reduces fat, it cannot control which specific areas the fat is lost from. Liposuction can treat specific areas resistant to diet and exercise to reduce pockets of stubborn fat and enhance weight loss results. Common areas lipo for men target include the arms, chest, abdomen, and love handles. Today’s minimally invasive techniques offer minimal downtime and skin tightening benefits.

Male Tummy Tuck

Tummy tuck surgery, also known as abdominoplasty, targets loose abdominal skin, weakened stomach muscles, and excess fat. A tummy tuck is ideal for men looking to tighten and tone their abdomen. Factors such as aging, obesity, and improper lifting can cause men to experience diastasis recti (or separation of the abdomen muscles). The only way diastasis recti can be corrected is through tummy tuck surgery. Tummy tuck surgery is often combined with liposuction to remove excess fat and skin to achieve a slimmer, contoured waistline.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia surgery, also known as male breast reduction, removes excess breast tissue and fat in men for a sculpted and toned chest. Gynecomastia surgery can treat excess skin following weight loss. Liposuction is most often performed to remove excess tissue during gynecomastia.

Body Lift For Men

A body lift is performed to address multiple cosmetic concerns of the body at once. Body lift surgery procedure targets excess skin following significant weight loss. A body lift can provide improvements to the abdomen, arms, back, legs, and more. After significant weight loss, stretched skin and tissue often lack elasticity to conform to the new body shape. Undergoing a body lift, removes any excess skin and tissue while tightening lax skin and repairing damaged muscles.

Why Plastic Surgery After Weight Loss

Studies show the percentage of men obtaining plastic surgery increases annually. Body plastic surgery can remove excess or loose skin while sculpting the body. After weight loss, excess skin can increase the chances of infections, skin irritation, negative body image, and more. Undergoing body contouring can enhance masculine physique and address problem areas.

Body Contouring NJ - Excess Skin Removal After Weight Loss Drugs

POSTED ON MONDAY, JANUARY 06, 2025 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

With an increase in demand for weight loss drugs, there has been an increase in body contouring procedures to remove excess skin after significant weight loss.

GLP-1 drugs have been the latest trend for significant weight loss. GLP-1 drugs, like Semaglutide, mimic the natural hormone of GLP-1 in the body, which helps with blood sugar regulation and decreases appetite. The effect of dramatic weight and rapid weight loss, however, can leave people with loose and sagging skin. Excess skin on the body can negatively affect confidence and cause health complications, including decrease of mobility and an increased risk of infections. For those experiencing excess skin following weight loss, body contouring procedures may be recommended.

At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer a variety of body contouring procedures to address and remove excess skin following weight loss. Body sculpting procedures to address excess skin can include tummy tuck surgery and body lift procedures. Undergoing a body contouring procedure can take care of excess skin all over and improve overall health. Learn more about body contouring procedures and discover which is the right fit for you!

Tummy Tuck

Often known as abdominoplasty, tummy tuck surgery is ideal for patients who have undergone significant weight loss. Tummy tuck surgery addresses loose abdominal skin, stretch marks, weakened stomach muscles, and excess fat. In addition, patients may achieve a slimmer waistline with the stomach muscles positioned closer together. This procedure can achieve long-lasting body sculpting results while tightening stretched stomach muscles.

Body Lift

A body lift is an overarching surgery to firm multiple parts of the body with one procedure. Body lifts can tone the body while removing excess skin and target specific body parts. A lower body lift can address the abdomen and buttocks, breast surgery can correct sagging or flattened breast tissue, and an arm lift or thigh lift can remove excess skin for a toned look. Body lifts are ideal for patients who’ve had significant weight loss. Dr. Asaadi decides what body lift procedures are necessary for each individual case.

Skin Tightening Treatments

Significant weight loss in a short period of time can affect skin elasticity and result in drooping skin. Non-invasive skin tightening treatments such as Morpheus8 and Ultherapy® are available for patients looking to address excess skin without surgery. Morpheus8 uses microneedling and radio frequency technology to deliver skin tightening effects. Ultherapy® uses ultrasound technology to boost collagen and elastin production and achieve sculpted results.

Dr. Asaadi and our staff at Asaadi Plastic Surgery are happy to discuss any body contouring procedures to remove excess skin following weight loss drugs. Contact our New Jersey office at 973.731.7000 or request an appointment online today!

Body Contouring NJ – Preparing for Summer

POSTED ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 04, 2024 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

During the long winter months, we stay indoors and out of the cold, and we bundle up to keep ourselves warm and unexposed to the elements. These winter months are an ideal time to take advantage of undergoing body contouring procedures, giving you plenty of recovery time before the summer approaches.

At Asaadi Plastic Surgery, we offer a variety of body contouring procedures that can help treat the unwanted, stubborn pockets of fat and excess skin that can be challenging to get rid of, even when exercise and healthy lifestyle choices are being made. Body contouring can enhance the natural contours of the body and achieve a more defined figure.

Common body contouring procedures include tummy tuck surgery, liposuction, MAsterTuck℠, and CORE Abdominoplasty℠. These procedures can achieve a more sculpted and toned figure and provide a natural-looking transformation to the patient’s current physique. Learn more about these body contouring procedures that can help you fulfill your desired body sculpting goals!

Tummy Tuck

Tummy tuck surgery, also known as abdominoplasty, is most commonly performed following pregnancy or significant weight loss to remove loose, sagging skin from the abdomen and tighten weakened abdominal muscles. The appearance of stretch marks, excess fat, and the contours of the body can be improved with tummy tuck surgery, resulting in a slimmer waistline.

Liposuction

Liposuction can enhance the contours of the body through techniques that target and eliminate unwanted fat along the midsection, arms, thighs, face, neck, and more. Liposuction can improve the proportions of your body profile and produce natural-looking results, leading to a more sculpted and toned figure. There are multiple liposuction techniques, including VASER® LipoSelection, super-wet liposuction, and more. Dr. Asaadi can help determine which type of liposuction is right for you.

MAsterTuck℠

MAsterTuck℠ is a liposuction technique that can sculpt the body by removing excess fat around the midsection to achieve natural-looking results. Patented and solely performed by Dr. Asaadi, this procedure targets fat deposits around the abdomen, flanks, and back. MAsterTuck℠ differs from traditional liposuction, as it does not leave lax skin following the procedure, but rather tightens the skin for a firmer overall appearance.

CORE Abdominoplasty℠

CORE Abdominoplasty℠ is performed by positioning patients at a 45-degree angle to allow Dr. Asaadi to discover where the abdominal muscles have weakened and where the skin has become lax, leading to bulging. Once the problem areas are identified, the CORE Abdominoplasty℠ procedure can provide patients with tighter, more defined abdominal muscles, as well as smoother skin and a slimmer silhouette.

Mommy Makeovers NJ - Frequently Asked Questions

POSTED ON MONDAY, JULY 03, 2023 AT 9:00 AM by Dr. Mokhtar Asaadi

A mommy makeover combines a variety of surgical procedures to address some of the common physical changes following pregnancy. Often after giving birth, the breasts begin to sag or deflate, and the abdomen holds excess skin, stretch marks, and bulging. This procedure is highly customized to suit the needs, goals, and desires of each individual patient.

Mommy makeover combinations may include breast enhancement, liposuction, tummy tuck, and vaginal rejuvenation.

Am I a good candidate for a mommy makeover?

If you have developed physical changes in your body following pregnancy and you are in overall good health, then you may be an ideal candidate for mommy makeover. Other important factors also include if you are finished having children, and if you are currently breastfeeding.

Each mommy makeover is uniquely tailored for each patient's health concerns and goals. These factors are important when determining what areas of the body to target and what combination of procedures to use for your mommy makeover.

Prior to scheduling the procedure, a physical examination will be conducted to discuss goals, concerns, and more to properly decide what combination of procedures to perform.

Mommy makeover targets:

  • Breasts that have deflated due to breast feeding or weight loss
  • Stretch marks
  • Pockets of fat
  • Excess skin
  • Weakened or separated abdominal muscles

How many treatments does mommy makeover include?

One of the benefits of the mommy makeover is that multiple procedures can be combined and performed at once. Additional treatments following the initial mommy makeover is dependent on what procedures were originally performed. Factors such as overall health and patient goals will be taken into account prior to the mommy makeover procedure.

How soon after having children should I consider a mommy makeover?

It is preferred that you have returned to your pre-pregnancy weight, are done having kids, and it is at least three to six months following breastfeeding that you choose to undergo a mommy makeover.

What will my recovery be like?

The recovery process and timeline will vary from patient to patient depending on which procedures were performed. Downtime can range between two to six weeks, and is discussed during the consultation appointment.

Dr. Asaadi and our staff are happy to answer any questions you may have about mommy makeover, as well as our other plastic surgery procedures. Contact our New Jersey office at 913.731.7000, our New York office at 212.938.0158, or you may request an appointment online today!
