What is Ultherapy® ?

Ultherapy® is a new cutting edge ultrasound treatment for lifting the tissue of the brow, face, and neck. During Ultherapy®, direct sound waves penetrate the surface of the skin to tighten the deeper tissues of the face and neck. The sound waves gently heat the tissue, lifting and tightening layers previously unreachable without invasive surgical procedures.

How does Ultherapy® work?

Ultherapy® uses FDA-approved ultrasound technology to tighten and tone the tissues of the face.  During the Ultherapy® treatment, low levels of heat are delivered to specifically targeted areas on your face and/or neck. This heat penetrates the deeper layers of your skin and tissue but does not damage the surface of your skin. The energy delivered during Ultherapy® stimulates new collagen growth, resulting in the gradual tightening, firming, and “lifting” of the skin over time.

How does Ultharapy® differ from other cosmetic procedures?

Unlike other non-surgical cosmetic procedures, Ultherapy® can specifically target deep tissue layers. In fact, Ultherapy® is the only non-invasive skin rejuvenating procedure to address both the skin the underlying tissues of the face and neck.

Ultherapy® treatment

Ultherapy® relies on the body’s natural healing process to gently restore firmness and tone to the skin and underlying tissues of the face and neck. The Ultherapy® treatment is performed in-office during a 30 to 60 minute procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Asaadi will use a smooth ultrasound applicator to deliver low levels of focused sound energy to specifically targeted areas. Since the ultrasound energy produces heat, you may experience slight discomfort during the procedure as the energy is being delivered. Dr. Asaadi will work with you in order to make the process as comfortable as possible.

After your Ultherapy® treatment

Ultherapy® treatment is performed in-office as an out-patient procedure. There is no downtime following the procedure; patients may resume normal activities immediately. Some patients notice that their skin appears flushed immediately following Ultherapy®, but initial redness will subside within a few hours. In some instances, patients may experience slight swelling and tenderness in treated areas. These reactions are normal and are generally mild in nature. They may last for a few days to a week.

Ultherapy® Results

After Ultherapy®, you will notice visible tightening and toning of loose skin. In FDA clinical trials, patients reported firmer, tighter skin in the face and neck.  Generally, patients will see meaningful results after just one Ultherapy® treatment. In some cases, patients may benefit from additional Ultherapy® sessions. While some initial skin tightening will be noticeable immediately following the procedure, the collagen rejuvenation prompted by the initial treatment takes between 2 and 3 months to be fully realized.
