If you are considering CORE Abdominoplasty
With CORE Abdominoplasty, Dr. Asaadi has crafted a revolutionary new way to tighten stomach muscles that have lost their tone and elasticity. CORE Abdominoplasty differs from traditional abdominoplasty because during the procedure, Dr. Asaadi raises the back of the operating table to a 45° position. This allows Dr. Asaadi to perform the “Table Tilt Test” to detect any additional abdominal bulging. Ultimately, CORE Abdominoplasty allows for more precise repair of the abdominal muscles, giving patients the smoother, firmer abdominal profile they are looking for.
The best candidate for CORE Abdominoplasty
The best candidates for CORE Abdominoplasty are women whose stomach muscles have become weak and stretched after giving birth to multiples or large babies. Using CORE Abdominoplasty, Dr. Asaadi is able to offer these women what no amount of diet or exercise can – the body they had before pregnancy. Though CORE Abdominoplasty is most often performed on women, it can also be an effective treatment for men with excess fat inside the abdomen that leads to a separation of the muscle from the abdominal wall.
CORE Abdominoplasty is meant for women and men who are in good overall health. CORE Abdominoplasty is not intended for patients who have large amounts of excess fat in the abdomen. Performing CORE Abdominoplasty on significantly overweight individuals can cause the diaphragm to be pushed up, leading to breathing complications.
Planning your CORE Abdominoplasty surgery
Prior to CORE Abdominoplasty procedure, patients will receive a complete health evaluation and consultation. During your initial visits, Dr. Asaadi will evaluate your overall health, determine the amount of fat that will be removed using CORE Abdominoplasty, and help you develop realistic expectations for your body following surgery.
It is important that you inform Dr. Asaadi of any medications, vitamins, or other drugs you are currently taking. During the consultation, Dr. Asaadi will also discuss the anesthesia to be used, the facility where the surgery will be performed, and the costs of the procedure.
When planning your CORE Abdominoplasty surgery, it is important to realize that this is NOT an office procedure. CORE Abdominoplasty is performed in a hospital setting under general anesthesia. It will require an overnight stay.
Preparing for your CORE Abdominoplasty Surgery
Dr. Asaadi will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for CORE Abdominoplasty prior to your surgery date. These instructions will include guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, and any adjustments to the medications you are currently taking. You will be asked to avoid taking aspirin and certain other anti-inflammatory drugs because they can increase bleeding during surgery. If you smoke cigarettes, plan to quit at least one to two weeks before your surgery and not to resume for at least two weeks after your surgery.

CORE Abdominoplasty Surgery
Surgeons typically perform abdominoplasty while the patient is lying completely flat. What many people fail to realize is that the stomach muscles are completely stretched out in this position, making it nearly impossible to detect any bulging that may present itself once the patient is upright or semi-upright. For this reason, many patients recover from traditional abdominoplasty surgery to less than satisfactory results. Dr. Asaadi has been able to offer his patients optimal post-abdominoplasty results through developing and using what he calls the “Table Tilt Test.”
Dr. Asaadi begins CORE Abdominoplasty as he would a typical tummy tuck. After the muscles are tightened while the patient is lying flat, Dr. Asaadi carefully repositions the patient into a semi-sitting position. Because the patient is still under general anesthesia, the abdominal muscles are still fully relaxed and are able to fall naturally. Once the patient is in this position, Dr. Asaadi can observe any additional bulging of the abdominal muscles. If any bulging is detected during the “Table Tilt Test,” Dr. Asaadi will continue to tighten muscle layers in order to flatten the tummy as much as possible.
After CORE Abdominoplasty surgery
CORE Abdominoplasty is a major surgical procedure that requires general anesthesia and an overnight hospital stay. Patients should realize that recovery from this procedure will take time. Following the procedure, patients can expect to experience some discomfort. For the first three days following your CORE Abdominoplasty surgery, you will be given a pain pump that administers medication to help manage post-operative discomfort. The sutures on the surface of the skin will be removed after five to seven days. Deep sutures with ends that protrude through the surface of the skin typically come out in two to three weeks.
Getting back to normal after CORE Abdominoplasty surgery
As with any surgical procedure, individual results and recovery times will vary. While patients typically begin to feel like themselves again after two or three weeks following CORE Abdominoplasty, it may take several months to completely return to normal. Light exercise in the weeks and months following surgery can help control swelling, reduce the chance of developing blood clots, and tone the abdominal muscles. You should expect your scars to take between nine months and one year to begin to fade and flatten out. Though the scars from this procedure are permanent, they will not show under most clothing.
